This is Water: The Choice of What To Think About

This is Water

Get rid of blind certainty.

An imprisonment so total that the prisoner does not know he is imprisoned. Seek critical awareness. Because a lot of what you believe in is likely totally wrong, totally diluted, and yet you are still sure of.

Natural basic self-centredness is our default setting. Think about it. There is no experience you have had where you were not at the right centre. Everything you have lived is at the right of you. At the left of you. Everything you feel is urgent. Real.

This is not a matter of virtue. It is a matter of getting rid of hard wired centring. And of not seeing everything through the sense of self.

Adjust your default setting.

It is difficult to get alert. And to break the internal monologue.

So learning how to think means exercise control over how and what you think. Being aware enough to choose what you think about. What you extract meaning about. If you do not exercise this, you will be hosed.

Do not be a slave to your head. Do not be imperially alone. Day in and day out.

Boredom. Routine. Petty frustration. At an average day, you work hard, work hard, at end of day, you want to go back, and rest. But people with jobs are squeezed. And you want freedom.

Word of "choosing" comes in at the time of thinking. What to think about.
